Blogging For Profit – 3 Tips For Overcoming Writers Block

March 26, 2010 in Blogging | Comments (3)

Tags: , ,

It’s so easy to start a blog and monetize it and usually the average blogger will start out with an explosion of fresh content that eventually begins to dwindle before the profits manifest themselves. If you’re blogging for profit, how can you overcome the dreaded writers block when you feel like you’ve said everything that needs to be said?

This article is going to give you three tips you can use right now to overcome writers block.

Tip #1 Stop Trying To Be Perfect. You may have heard or read the experiences of other bloggers who tend to not write or update their blog unless they’ve got something worthy to say. While this may be a rather noble approach to an otherwise casual channel of communication, it can cause an aspiring blogger to strive for something they’ll never achieve… perfection.

If you put too much pressure on yourself to come up with ground breaking content every time you sit down to write… nothing will happen.

Tip #2 Are You Writing or Editing? An easy way to stifle your ability to compose a continual flow of content is to stop and edit your post while you’re composing it. If you concentrate on just allowing yourself to write freely, you’ll find that in time you will be able to generate content frequently and easily.

Don’t worey, worry, worrie about misspelling or grammatical errors when you’re in the process of getting your ideas out. Just get them out, save your post as a draft and once your writing session is over, go back and edit the content before you publish it.

Tip #3 Don’t Be Overly Self Conscious. Another writing demon that always manages to appear when you’re ready to present your ideas to your audience is self-consciousness. Are you worried that someone may disagree with your view point or that someone will call you out on some inaccuracy?

By being overly concerned about the reaction of your audience, you in effect crush your creative abilities and unduly stress yourself out to the point of being to fearful to write anything at all.

The best way to overcome this problem is to stop censuring yourself by writing as if no one else was going to read it. Once you give yourself the freedom to express your own ideas and thoughts you’ll find that you will have more to write about than you can keep up with.

Generate Income Blogging – 5 Tips for Generating Cash Flow From Your Blog

March 25, 2010 in Blogging | Comments (3)

Blogging is an awesome way for just about anyone to get started publishing content on the internet and turning that content into profit. If you haven’t started blogging yet this article will talk about 5 ways you can generate income blogging once you get started.

Before I go into the five tips that I have lined up for you it’s important that you pick a topic that you at least have a minimum amount of interest in as this will help you to provide the amount of content needed to produce real results.

Tip #1. Post new content often.

One of the great things about blogs is that they are natural traffic generators and once you set up an rss feed and post regularly, it does not take long to begin attracting subscribers to your feed.

The more content you post, the more you will attract new readers as well as keep your existing readers coming back for more. So set up a schedule for yourself to post as often and regularly as you can.

Tip #2. Post content that is related to your niche.

The easiest way to lose your subscribers and experience a major decline in your traffic is to post irrelevant content. If your blogs main topic is bird watching and your content is mixed with parenting issues, automotive repair and sports stories the likelihood of maintaining your audience attention is extremely low if at all.

By posting relevant content focused on the topic of your blog, your site becomes somewhat of a go to authority for information related to that subject.

Tip #3. Sell related products and services.

Now you’re probably wondering how the first two tips relate to generating cash flow from your blog, well it’s simple really. If you don’t have a target, than who are you going to market your products and services to?

And if you don’t get any traffic to your site, who is going to buy the products and services you’re marketing?

So this leads us nicely into selling related products and services that would benefit your readers and compliment the content you’re posting. If you’re posting content about home improvement, products like how to guides for specific jobs around the house can be a simple way to compliment your content and generate sales.

Tip #4. Make full use of your blogs real estate.

If you want to attract your readers to the relevant offers that will benefit them, you can create hypertext links from within your content that tell your reader exactly what they’re going to see when they click the link.

Another valuable piece of real estate on your blog is the sidebar where you can post text links similar to the links in your content as well as banners that will draw your readers attention. If you want to generate income blogging the key is to promote offers that are tightly related to the content as this will generate the best response.

Tip #5. Purchase a relevant and catchy domain name.

This will give your site the added professionalism that will attract targeted visitors who are looking specifically for what you have to offer. It’s best if the domain name that you choose is not too long and is easy to remember.

Get More Traffic to Your Website With Highly Optimized Blog Posts

January 16, 2010 in Website Conversion | Comments (5)

Blogs are a very good and easy way to generate traffic and create your presence online. However if there is one thing you must have in order for blogging to be profitable for you and that is targeted visitors.

If you want to generate the kind of traffic that results in profits, you need the kind of visitors that are looking for exactly what it is your offering.

In order to attract highly targeted visitors from the search engines, it’s important that you pick keywords with a reasonable amount of searches and that are closely related to the content you’re providing in order to make money with your blog.

A big misconception out there is that so long as you have a blog with a lot of content on it and some banners or adsense, you will instantly start making money. This is wrong and unless you enjoy experiencing frustration (which I’m sure you don’t) you’ll do keyword research.

Keyword research is actually not as complicated as the keyword software producers make it seem, but it is crucial to developing content that pulls in sales.

Another way to optimize your blog posts is to follow the same rules you would follow if you were optimizing a page on a static website.

Use your keyword in your title, a couple of times in your post and don’t be overly concerned about keyword density. Just write like you talk and keep it simple.

Include your keyword in your tags as well as related keywords and believe it or not you’ll start getting the kind of visitors that will make your blogging worthwhile.

Make Money Blogging: Why It Won’t Happen For Some People

April 28, 2009 in Articles, Blogging | Comments (1)

Tags: , , , , , , ,

With the amount of blogs that exist and are being created daily, it’s any wonder that someone could make money from a blog at all. However what this illustrates is just how vast the online market really is.

When I think about this I’m reminded of a small area where I live, that has a ridiculously high concentration of automotive repair shops. These guys are literally on top of each other and yet somehow each one of those shops makes money every day.  A large portion of those shops have been there for years.

An Important Realization That Needs To Be Made…

If you want to make money blogging, it’s important to realize just how vast the market is on the internet. Every day there are more people just starting to use the internet, more schools are teaching via the internet than ever before, more companies are becoming more digitally inclined as they look for ways to stay one step ahead of the competition and the list goes on and on.

Case in point, my wife works for a small masonry company that has been in business for fifty years and they don’t even have an internet connection. So let’s talk about why some people won’t make money blogging.

Don’t You Need To Be An Expert?

One big misconception is that you need to be an expert about something. While this may be helpful, it won’t be the thing that motivates you when you don’t feel like blogging.  So what do you need?  Passion.

If you have a passion for the subject matter you’re discussing, you’ll take the time to find out what you don’t know and eventually you’ll end up becoming an expert. Having a passion for your topic will give you the audacity to speak your mind, regardless of what others think.

A Word About Reading Other Peoples’ Blog’s…

Another reason why some people won’t make money blogging is because they are too busy reading everybody else’s blog and not blogging themselves. You can read other blog’s, but if you’re not going to agree, disagree or whatever than there is nothing to monetize.

The Dreaded Fear Of Monetization…

Fear of monetization is another reason that keeps people from seeing any ROI with their blogs. There’s this big fear that maybe your visitors won’t like you because you offered them something related to the subject matter that they were already interested in?

It may be helpful to look at it this way; when you’re visitor stops by your store (blog), there was already a level of interest, especially if they visit more than once. So offering products related to their interest can serve as a way of increasing the value of your blog to your visitor.

But Someone’s Already Done That…

The, it’s already been done before mentality. Comparing yourself to another more established blogger is o.k. if it serves as a positive peer pressure to increase the quality of your posts and offers, but it will kill your enthusiasm and dampen you creativity if you are trying to be just like them.

Are You A Wal-Mart Blogger?

Lastly, don’t be a Wal-Mart blogger. I have nothing against Wal-Mart in fact I think they have a secret $100 cover charge, because every time I walk in there, I can’t walk out without spending $100 bucks. Anyway, if you’re blog is going to cater to every possible market at large, then you’re going to need  Wal-Mart traffic.

And unless you have the advertising budget to get that kind of traffic, you’ll never see any real dollars from your blog.

Well, guess what? This post is finally over. Whew! Keep tightly targeted to your passionate interests, speak your piece and provide a means of monetization that adds value to your visitors. Before you know it, you’ll make money blogging.

To Your Blogging Success,

Nando

Are You Making Money In The Make Money Online Niche?

February 25, 2009 in Internet Marketing | Comments (5)

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

In the previous post the topic was focused on niche marketing and the tremendous amount of money that’s on the table right now. This time we’re going to talk about the rabid and rapidly growing ‘make money online’ niche.

At last count there were 202,000,000 websites competing for the term ‘make money online’ with 16,400,000 optimized and 665,000 allintitle. Do you know what all that means?

There’s a lot of money floating around out there and all you’ve got do is find a way to get in the middle of it all. You don’t even have to be on the first page of Google to get a piece of that pie (although, it certainly doesn’t hurt).

You just need to be in the game.

Whether you are an affiliate marketer or internet marketer in general, all you need to do is identify pockets of profitability within this market and target your efforts accordingly.

The hottest part of the make money online market centers around the affiliates themselves. Here’s the scenario in case you haven’t “smelled what the Rock is cookin”.

The vast majority of affiliate marketers today represent the miners who came to California during the gold rush. The marketers who are turning a ridiculous profit are the ones who are selling the shovels for the affiliates to use to mine the gold, when they themselves in fact, are the gold.

Still with me?

So what does this mean for you? You’ve got to start selling shovels, my friend and let the miners do the work for you.

How do we know what shovels to sell?

Well, what does every affiliate need in order to mine the gold?

Traffic.

There are tons and tons of methods that can be used to get traffic and each of  these represents a niche and consequently sub niches in the make money online market. There’s…

Search Engine Optimization

Viral Marketing

Blogging

Video Marketing

Article Marketing

Podcasting

Social Powerlinking

Social Networking

and so on, and so on.

So what am I saying here? You need to stop buying the shovels and start selling them. That’s why so many people don’t make any money in the make money online niche. If you’re having trouble finding your target market in this niche, it’s because… you’re the target.

Start selling the shovels. Got it? Good.

Happy shovel selling,

Nando
