Sifting Through The Crap and Finding The Truth

There is so much information online about how to make money online that you could spend hours going from one product to the next and still not get the information you need to justify the amount of time you’ve spent on your quest. In addition to the time, there’s the amount of money you’ll spend as well. So what should you do?

First of all when it comes to turning your computer into a money making machine, there has to be a realistic level of expectation that has to be established before you do anything.

If you are acquainted in any way with the time and cost associated with starting an offline business, you’ll also be aware of the fact that brick and mortar businesses like a McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, 7 Eleven or even your local mom and pop hardware store don’t start out in profit.

Often there is a considerable amount of time that will go by where in most cases there are negative gains for at least the first 1-5 years. If you’re able to break even in your first 1-2 years you’re actually doing pretty good, but that’s not the majority.

So if you’re seriously thinking about establishing a business online it’s important to come into it with the right mentality and perspective.

Having the proper understanding with regards building an internet business whether it be as a product vendor or affiliate will help you to get past one of the biggest problems in the internet marketing world and that is… false and unrealistic expectations.

Now having said that, the good news is that it doesn’t take that long to build a solid business online as long as you’re going about it from an entrepreneurial perspective.

You see, most people are o.k. with what I just said a moment ago until…

They come across all of the promises of instant riches and profits that many salesletters are filled with. Once they see this all logic goes out the window and after their first try they end up getting sucked into a money pit that involves spending dollar after dollar to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Here are some realities that you need to understand and come to terms with if you want to build a real business online that will afford you the freedom of going full time and quitting your job.

1. No matter what product you buy with the exception of software for automation purposes, any system you choose to work with will always involve a need for traffic. Without traffic you don’t have a business, I don’t care how nice your website looks or what kind of copy you have on it, if nobody is looking at it… then it’s just another painting hanging on a wall in an art gallery.

2. You have to learn how to communicate with your target audience in order to provide any service of value. Think about it… if no one is looking for what you’re offering… you can forget about traffic.

3. You must establish your brand and build a following that will loyally support that brand. O.k. so you’ve got this great website up offering a widely sort after service or product that your target is willing to spend their money on but, there’s one problem…

You’re not the only game in town.

So now you’ve got to be able to distinguish yourself from other businesses that sell the same product, because if you don’t then you’re never going to acquire the needed amount of traffic to produce the sales and revenue that it will take to sustain your business.

At this point as you can see making money online is not some ‘brain dead anybody can do it’ type of business… it’s business.

So here’s what I’d like to do…

I want to create a comprehensive product that will help individuals to set up an internet business that will put them on a path to success within 6 months to a year. I’m not going to resort to any hype or b.s. because there is already enough of that available as it is, but I would like to ask for your help with this project.

If you were going to create a product that would teach individuals how to build a real business online…

a) What important information would you include in it?

b) What format would best suit the needs of those who buy it? (Video, pdf, audio, all of the above)

c) What would be a reasonable price point to go with so that the product is not devalued but relatively accessible to your audience?

d) Would you create a membership site or sell it as a stand alone product?

I have personally had the good fortune of being able to build a business online and generate a good 4 figure income that is steadily increasing and I would like to help others minus the hype to start their own business on the right foot and actually make money with it.

So if you could help me out with the questions above, I’d like to send you a couple of exclusive reports I’ve just created to show my appreciation.

I look forward to reading your responses and thanks so much for being a reader of my blog.

Sincerely,

-Nando

Internet Business Success – Building Value Through Perception

What determines whether or not you pursue the purchase of any given product online? Is it the sales copy, the graphics perhaps or is it…

The perceived value of the offer that is up for sale?

When you break any product down to it’s bare essentials, all you really have is the product itself which is probably in pdf, audio or video format, a salesletter to sell it, and the hope that the information contained inside will live up to your expectations in delivering on the goods.

Now when you take a moment to look at internet marketing from that perspective, what is it that makes the difference between a product that sells like gangbusters and a similar product that does nothing at all?

The perceived value of the offer.

If all of the products are basically the same, what is it that makes your credit card almost jump out of your wallet with an unrestrained desire to be charged when you see certain advertisements?

As previously mentioned, the perceived value of the offer when it is high enough will almost without fail cause your visitors to fumble for their credit cards every time to buy your product, like a drug addict in desperate need of a fix.

So how is this perceived value created and even more importantly how is it intensified so as to cause a frenzied response from your visitors?

One of the first things that can really get someone to almost go into a tailspin over an information product are really good graphics. I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen some graphics that were so captivating that it almost didn’t matter what the sales letter had to say.

But do you need graphics to generate a high impact response? Truth is… no.

What about websites that have no graphics, yet generate the same type of response?

Well placed high impact words and phrases appropriately grouped together and skillfully woven within a captivating story will almost always create an almost insatiable desire to want what you have to offer.

Ever read sales copy that was so riveting that you just had to keep reading to see if this just might be ‘the one’? As a matter of fact it’s so good that you can’t wait to get to the ‘buy’ button to get your hands on it as fast as you can.

But there’s more…

What about the price? You’ve heard it said: “You get what you pay for”. Well think about this, while it may seem easy to practically give away a product for peanuts, this almost always reduces sales, because when an offer is priced far below the perceived value of what it should cost, people instinctively will stay away from it.

It’s like having someone offer you what you perceive to be an expensive car for a cheap price. Instead of just jumping on the offer, your first reaction is to wonder:  “why is the car selling at such a cheap price?  What’s wrong with it?”

The same can be said for pricing your product too low.

How about this, you see an incredible offer that you would like to take advantage of, but money is tight right now so you’ll just have to wait, but just as you get towards the end of the sales copy, you find out that the offer is limited to the next 12 orders or the offer will disappear forever within the next 72 hours!

If all the other ingredients we talked about a moment ago were in order, there’s no way you can take the chance of missing out on what seems like a really excellent offer.

Next, good bonuses that really compliment the main product can send the perceived value through the roof when combined with all of the other components.

Testimonials or social proof along with a strong guarantee that basically says to your visitors, you’re NOT interested in trying to rip them off and are willing to assume all the risk and provide a no questions asked refund in the event that they are unhappy with the material, can turn an incredible offer into an absolute no brainer, you’d have to be crazy to pass this up kind of deal.

Your internet business success is riding on your ability to build value through perception and if you continually work to incorporate each of these points that we’ve just considered, the perceived value of your offers will induce more visitors to take action, more often, making you more money.

6 Reasons Why Most People Won’t Start An Internet Business

Let’s face it, a large majority of the population would love to quit their jobs and own their own business. Despite the desire to start an internet business, for one reason or another it never seems to happen. Why?

In this article we’ll look at 6 reasons why people are hesitant to start an internet business.

1. They think they have to be an expert.

Most people just don’t think they know enough to start a business much less start one online. They’re under the assumption that they have to be super knowledgeable about internet marketing before they can get a business up and running.

Nothing could be further from the truth. A large portion of the online businesses currently operating online today are not run by experts. They are run by people who leverage the knowledge of experts in a particular market and outsource most of the work to them.

2. Low self esteem.

Interestingly enough most people don’t think they deserve to be successful and as a result could never see themselves as such. Due to a self defeating attitude based on their own limited perceptions, they basically talk themselves out of success before they have chance to experience any.

3. Money.

The “old school” line of thinking associated with starting your own business is that you need to a huge upfront investment in order to start your own business. With internet marketing you can literally get started for nothing and scale up as your profits increase.

4. Nothing to Sell.

Finding a market for a particular product is not as difficult as some people think, the issue is should a person go after a topic they know nothing about or work with the knowledge they already possess?

The truth is that as long as you’re interested in whatever niche you choose to get involved with you’ll find a level of success. The key is to make sure that people are spending money in that market.

5. Lack of Discipline.

The average person may have a bit of difficulty with this one, simply because society is so distracted with instant gratification that most people can’t concentrate long enough on one thing to see it work.

6. A Pessimistic Attitude.

It is very difficult for the average person to imagine themselves enjoying the profits from a successful business, especially when they may not have had any previous experience in anything else.

Maintaining a positive and forward thinking attitude about the goals that should have been set from the start will manifest itself outwardly by the success one experiences as a result of not giving up and plugging away relentlessly until they’ve succeeded.

Conclusion:

Starting an internet business is not as difficult and overcomplicated as some make it out to be, but it is essential to have a plan of attack in place, so that all you have to do is simply follow the plan.

Is Internet Marketing A Theory or Reality To You?

How often do you take action in your internet marketing business? Are you a weekend warrior? Does the thought of making money online merely sound good to you? or are you in the trenches everday taking action?

There are a lot of good theories out there that sound absolutely amazing, but ain’t worth the blog they are posted on. Sound harsh? maybe, but if you’ve spent some time actively working on your blog or whatever it is you’re doing, all you have to do is track your results to know what works from what doesn’t.

You don’t have to buy every product in the market place to find out either. Pick a strategy and gun it for a week and you’ll be able to see whether or not it ’s worth the time or effort. Often times I hear of and from many people who are just starting out with internet marketing and the story remains the same…

I just started writing a blog and I know it’s only my first week, but I’m not seeing any real traffic yet or I haven’t made a sale yet.

So many people are struggling to make money on the internet because in their minds it’s still just a good idea, it hasn’t become a real business to them yet. This internet thing just sounds like a way to make some quick cash without making any committment or putting forth any real effort.

Well just to put it to rest the ‘theory’ concerning making money on the internet is real. The question is: when does it become real to you? You see your job is real to you. You go to work… you get paid. Only problem is that you can’t write your own paycheck. You get what they give. Period.

With internet marketing the same applies except, you can write your own paycheck, but now that you’re the boss there’s no one to make you get out of bed and DO it.

I’m sure that if someone took out an ad in the sunday times looking for someone to help them build their business online, people would probably flock to it because they don’t have to commit to actually building the business, but they would be able to do the minimum and get paid.

Problem is that doing the minimum would only earn them minimum wage. Crazy world, but that’s how it is.

So if internet marketing is more than theory to you and you’re committed to building a real business that makes real money…

Get real with it.

Want To Know How To Generate A Relentless Flow Of Traffic To Your Site?

August 4, 2009 in Internet Marketing, Personal Thoughts, Traffic Generation, affiliate marketing, article marketing, making money online | Comments (4)

You wanna get a truck load of traffic to your site? Of course you do. The real question is are you ready to do what it takes to get that traffic? When it comes to getting traffic to your site it’s more about tenacity and routine than techniques. Let me explain what I’m talking about.

If you’ve been online for at least 30-60 days, you know you have to get traffic to your site if you want to sell anything, but knowing that you need it and getting it, are two totally different things. One of the main reasons most people flunk out of internet marketing is because they lack the tenacity and focus it takes to get any one technique to work.

Now you’re probably thinking that I’m going to tell you  to write a million articles or surf traffic exchanges til your blue in the face, well I’m not because the reality is that you need to be doing both of these things. However there are other methods for getting targeted quality traffic to your site, but what you have to understand is that you won’t get a million visitors by tomorrow.

You can grow your traffic relatively fast, but the key is to focus on whatever technique you choose to make that happen. Let’s pick article marketing and video marketing. Article marketing can allow you to create lots of backlinks fast to your site, but what if you don’t like writing articles? Get someone else to do it. You can pay a freelance writer at Elance.com or search for good writers in the Warrior Forum.

You can also use articles from article directories as long as you keep the credits in tact  when you post them on your site. If you have articles already written you can repurpose them as video content. Another thing you can do is bookmark your articles on as many bookmarking sites as you can. More backlinks, means more opportunities for visitors already interested in your topic to click over to your site.

You can use private label content. There are a lot of private label articles out there and you can rewrite them so that you can make them unique and post them on your blog and create a slightly reworked version for the article directories. You can even use them as content for web 2.0 sites with links pointing back to your blog or website.

When you post the content to your blog and to the web 2.o sites that point back to it, make sure to social bookmark the blogs as well as the individual posts on them. So far I’ve only talked about content marketing using articles and with these ideas alone you can drive ridiculous traffic back to your site, but you’ve got to set up a routine and stick to it.

As great as some strategies may sound it’s impossible to make them all work at the same time. The key is to pick a strategy and work with it consistently enough for it to work.

In closing it’s important to really work hard at it in the beginning in order to turbo charge your traffic getting efforts. Don’t just write one article and bookmark it to a couple of sites and expect traffic to come pouring in. It doesn’t work like that and if that’s how you plan to do it, then don’t expect much if anything at all.

Internet marketing works. Affiliate marketing works, but it takes hard work and perseverance to make it work for you and if you’re willing to put in the elbow grease early on, the snowball effect of your efforts will begin to grow by itself over time. Also make sure to recycle your traffic by building a list and continuously redirecting your subscribers back to your site and you’ll soon generate a relentless flow of traffic to your site.

Nando
