Online Business Building: A Very Important Tip You Need To Know To Build Your Online Business When You’re Broke

So you’ve heard that there’s gold in them thar hills on the internet have ya? You’ve probably heard all the talk about how you can build your business for next to nothing on a shoestring budget. But what you can’t understand for the life of you is how people who try to do this end up flat broke and penniless with nothing to show but regret.

The problem is that many people come into the online world expecting to buy that wonder product that’s going to take them from $0 to millions fast! Somehow the idea of making money using your computer from the luxury of your home seems to have gotten confused with working to build an online business.

Online business building requires the same tenacity and fortitude for success, just as much if not more so than if you were to buy into a franchise. Even more than that it requires establishing a plan and executing that plan in order to see the fruits of your labor.

So what can you do to get your online business off the ground without going into massive debt? Put together a list of all the tools you need to get your business going and into profitability and don’t buy into any product or service until you can afford to. The problem with many online wannabees is that they spend themselves into a quagmire of debt that was worse than when they got started.

When you spend more than you can afford and will apply into your internet business venture the pressure that you end up putting on yourself for all that careless spending, drains the enthusiasm and excitement right out of you and stifles your ability to think clearly and stick to your resolve.

If you can exercise a level of self control that will not allow you to spend beyond your current means, than you will be able to build your online business without the pressure of wondering how you’re going to cover this months rent and car note.

Make Money Blogging: Why It Won’t Happen For Some People

April 28, 2009 in Articles, Blogging | Comments (1)

With the amount of blogs that exist and are being created daily, it’s any wonder that someone could make money from a blog at all. However what this illustrates is just how vast the online market really is.

When I think about this I’m reminded of a small area where I live, that has a ridiculously high concentration of automotive repair shops. These guys are literally on top of each other and yet somehow each one of those shops makes money every day.  A large portion of those shops have been there for years.

An Important Realization That Needs To Be Made…

If you want to make money blogging, it’s important to realize just how vast the market is on the internet. Every day there are more people just starting to use the internet, more schools are teaching via the internet than ever before, more companies are becoming more digitally inclined as they look for ways to stay one step ahead of the competition and the list goes on and on.

Case in point, my wife works for a small masonry company that has been in business for fifty years and they don’t even have an internet connection. So let’s talk about why some people won’t make money blogging.

Don’t You Need To Be An Expert?

One big misconception is that you need to be an expert about something. While this may be helpful, it won’t be the thing that motivates you when you don’t feel like blogging.  So what do you need?  Passion.

If you have a passion for the subject matter you’re discussing, you’ll take the time to find out what you don’t know and eventually you’ll end up becoming an expert. Having a passion for your topic will give you the audacity to speak your mind, regardless of what others think.

A Word About Reading Other Peoples’ Blog’s…

Another reason why some people won’t make money blogging is because they are too busy reading everybody else’s blog and not blogging themselves. You can read other blog’s, but if you’re not going to agree, disagree or whatever than there is nothing to monetize.

The Dreaded Fear Of Monetization…

Fear of monetization is another reason that keeps people from seeing any ROI with their blogs. There’s this big fear that maybe your visitors won’t like you because you offered them something related to the subject matter that they were already interested in?

It may be helpful to look at it this way; when you’re visitor stops by your store (blog), there was already a level of interest, especially if they visit more than once. So offering products related to their interest can serve as a way of increasing the value of your blog to your visitor.

But Someone’s Already Done That…

The, it’s already been done before mentality. Comparing yourself to another more established blogger is o.k. if it serves as a positive peer pressure to increase the quality of your posts and offers, but it will kill your enthusiasm and dampen you creativity if you are trying to be just like them.

Are You A Wal-Mart Blogger?

Lastly, don’t be a Wal-Mart blogger. I have nothing against Wal-Mart in fact I think they have a secret $100 cover charge, because every time I walk in there, I can’t walk out without spending $100 bucks. Anyway, if you’re blog is going to cater to every possible market at large, then you’re going to need  Wal-Mart traffic.

And unless you have the advertising budget to get that kind of traffic, you’ll never see any real dollars from your blog.

Well, guess what? This post is finally over. Whew! Keep tightly targeted to your passionate interests, speak your piece and provide a means of monetization that adds value to your visitors. Before you know it, you’ll make money blogging.

Article marketing is a very powerful and effective method of advertising your business on the internet, but if you think you’re done after you submit your article to a few directories, you could be missing out on some huge traffic.

Repurpose Your Content

Sounds fancy doesn’t it? Repurpose your content; that just means that there are other ways you can use the same to content to achieve the same purpose, which is to drive traffic to your website.

Here are a few things you can do with your articles:

  • String four or five related articles together to create a short report
  • Create an ebook
  • Turn your articles into podcasts and submit to podcast directories
  • Create slideshows and post them on slideshare.net
  • Create videos and submit them using tubemogul.com
  • Break up longer articles into short posts for your blogs
  • Use them to answer related questions on yahoo answers and in forums
  • Bookmark your articles and their feeds on as many sites as you can
  • Use your articles as content for your list
  • Rewrite your own content and sell it as PLR (private label rights)
  • Create a squeeze page with your article on it
  • Use your articles as presells for ezine solo ads

How’s that for a few ideas? If you ever get to feeling like you’ve done all you can to effectively promote your website or affiliate offer, remember this…

There’s always something else you can do. It just takes a little thought and effort.

Hope this helps,

Nando

Watch, listen and read about a tremendously historic event via text alerts, TV broadcast, and web-broadcasts. The communication channels being used by the president of the United States?

Indeed if there were any doubt as to the effectiveness of the web 2.0 revolution, the success of president-elect Barak Obama’s campaign should easily dispel those thoughts.

This inaugural event not only represents the victorious outcome of well planned and executed campaign, but it also represents the possibilities that are available to anyone who chooses to commit to their vision.

There is much that can be learned and adapted into the world of internet marketing and online advertising in general from this event. To think broadcasting companies like HBO, The Disney Channel, and ABC are participating in making what will turn out to be one of the most remembered presidential inaugurations this country has ever seen.

With all the pros and cons that have been considered with regards the viability of the internet, finally a real demonstration of the kind of good this medium can accomplish.

Heck, there is even an excellent model available when it comes to video communication and marketing.

Beware The Internet Marketing Value Vampires

Here’s a very interesting article I came across while doing some research,
that you may find valuable. I hope it spurs you on to greater success.
- Nando

Thousands of aspiring Internet marketers come online
every year, filled with hopes of earning a full-time
living from the Internet. They learn HOW to actually
accomplish that, yet they never reach their dreams.

Many get so close, and yet they are stopped by ONE thing.

They are stopped by an insidious poison that is so subtle
that it kills all chances that they have of success in a
way that leaves them with a smile on their faces.

That success killer is a “class of poisons” called “The
Value Vampires.”

Value vampires are people and things that allow you to
gradually master a valuable skill, and then act as if
that skill has no value. It’s people and thoughts that
cause you to undervalue things that you create.

Symptoms of value vampires operating in your universe
include:

- You spend countless hours writing ebooks and then give
them away, or don’t even distribute them, because you
become convinced that the information that they contain is
“common knowledge.”

- You host teleseminar where you teach people things
that they need to know, and you don’t charge anything
for the teleseminars or recordings because you consider
what you teach “common knowledge” or “common sense.”

- You record interviews or teleseminars and then give
away the MP3’s, and PDF’s that you pay to have
created, because you become convinced that the
information they contain is “common knowledge.”

- You spend countless hours creating Camtasia videos
showing how to do things such as configure scripts,
generate website traffic, or create products, and then
you give the videos away because you assume that
“everyone already knows what you teach.”

STOP for a moment and examine what you’re doing!

You’re undervaluing your unique knowledge,
experience, and skills. You’re concluding that because
what you’re sharing is actually easy for you now, it
can’t have any real value.

After acknowledging what’s keeping your from actually
earning a living from sharing your knowledge and skills,
you need to ask WHY you behave that way.

If you are like many Internet marketers with a wealth
of valuable information, but aren’t earning a decent
living from it, the problem is very likely caused by
value vampires that you can readily “identify.”

These are people that you interact with everyday who
tell you “point blank” that you should give away
your hard work.

They imply that it can’t possibly have any real value.

They subtly hint that you should feel guilty having
the audacity to charge someone for your ebooks, audios,
videos, teleseminars, and even LIVE events.

At the same time, these value vampire consume virtually
EVERYTHING that you produce. They value what you produce
enough to ask for a steady supply of it, yet lead you
to believe that it has no value.

Do you see the inconsistency?

I’m not implying that you need to charge for everything
that you produce and share.

I AM pointing out that if you’ve been in business online
for years, know how to do lots of things, and teach others
how to do lots of things, and you’re still struggling,
you MAY be a victim of the value vampires.

I AM pointing out that if people are constantly asking
you for files that you create, then they’re confirming
that your “output” has real value, and that you should
probably be charging for some of it.

Step back and examine your online activities today. Ask
yourself if you are falling prey to “the value vampires.”
The first step to protecting yourself from them is
learning to recognize them.

After recognizing the problem, the next logical step to
finally building a profitable online business, is treating
it like a business. Ask yourself if you’d behave the same
way if your products were meals in a brick and mortar
restaurant.

Now that you’ve become aware of the Internet marketing
value vampires, the only reason you need be victimized by
them is that you enjoy it :-)
