Internet Marketing Business – Repurposing Low Performing Products For Increased Traffic and Profits

You may have seen a product get introduced to the marketplace that somehow didn’t generate the kind of profits initially expected. You see this all the time especially if you look into the clickbank marketplace. So if this is your product, should you just chuck it or can you still turn a profit with it?

In this article I’m going to share some simple ideas you can use to turn your losses into profitable gains.

One of the first things you can do to salvage the time and effort that went into creating and marketing the product is to offer reprint or resale rights.

This is a great way to get more exposure for your primary business and turn what seemed like a losing proposition into a cash generator.

Who would be interested in purchasing the reprint rights to your product?

People who are not interested in creating products themselves and just want a ready made business in a box that they can just plug in and profit from.

Another idea that you can use to generate more traffic to your internet business is to offer the product as a bonus to someone else’s paid product.

This will not only give your business increased exposure, but will also put you in direct contact with proven buyers in the market place.

Make sure to include within your product, links that will give those buying customers an opportunity to subscribe to your list so that you can capitalize on future marketing opportunities.

Here’s something to consider. What about using that product as a lead generator to increase the size of your subscriber list?

If there is one thing people don’t mind getting… it’s a free product.

So create a lead capture page that asks for your visitors details in exchange for the product. This can be an excellent way to give your visitors a preview of the kind of quality your business represents, while building your credibility and relationships with your subscribers simultaneously.

You could also participate in free giveaway list building events and use your product as a way to generate tons of leads fast.

Should You Use Single or Double Opt-in To Build Your List?

This question has been hotly debated since newsletters and ezines started being used as a way to build value for email subscribers.

Do I use a  single or double opt-in for my newsletter?

Well, let’s first go over how each type works before we tackle that question.

Single opt-in is where you send a subscriber to an opt-in box where they plug in their email and name and click submit. From that very moment that they hit that submit button they are automatically subscribed to your e-zine.

Double opt-in takes it a step farther.

After they fill in their information and hit the submit button, they will then get what is called a confirmation email sent to their in box. In order to get into your e-zine or newsletter as a subscriber, they have to click a link in that  confirmation email, otherwise, they are not subscribed to your e-zine.

That is the difference between single and double opt-in.

Now, to those of you who are new to this game, you might be thinking
that double opt-in is an extra, useless step that only makes it harder
for people to opt-in.

What if they don’t get their email? What if they don’t know how to click on the link? What if they’re afraid to click on the link because of a virus or Trojan or something?

What it they give a phony email address?

Ah, that could be a problem eh?

Unfortunately, many people out there want something for nothing. If
you offer an e-zine, especially if you are offering a free gift for people
who sign up, you are going to get a certain percentage who will give a
phony email address just to get to the download page where they can
get their free gift.

Now, you might be thinking, “Okay, that’s not so terrible. So they got
a free gift out of me? So what?”

Well, there’s still one more problem with this scenario. See, not only
did they get the free gift out of you but they also gave you a phony
email address. Remember that?

But what if it’s NOT a phony address? It may not be THEIR email address, but it MAY belong to somebody else.

Are the lights coming on a little bit more?

What do you think is going to happen when this person, whoever they
are, a person who doesn’t know you or your e-zine from Adam, gets
YOUR e-zine in THEIR email?

Can you say “SPAM?”

And they would be perfectly within their rights. Remember, they
didn’t ask for your e-zine to be sent to them so as far as they are
concerned, it IS spam.

In other words, with single opt-in, you are risking having your
business shut down because of spam complaints.

Yes, with double opt-in you are going to lose some potential subscribers because they either won’t want to click on the link, don’t know how to click on a link, or don’t even get your email. But if you’re using a good autoresponder service, the problem of email delivery is the last thing you have to worry about.

Naturally, it’s your decision to use either single or double opt-in. I just
personally don’t recommend using single opt-in as it opens up the
potential for way too many problems.

It’s tough enough as it is when you’re just getting started.

A Kick In The Pants From The Inbox

So much email, so little time. You probably have thousands of messages sitting in your inbox right now, most of which you haven’t read. You know what determines which email I open?

The previous content.

You see, when I optin to a list I usually read at least the first one or two emails and based on the value presented, that will determine whether or not I will bother to read future mails from that person.

O.k. so having said all that I want to share with you some motivation I received from the Rhodes Brothers, John and Matt. They run an awesome blog at IMSimple.com. I don’t get a commission for telling you about, but the information that they so liberally share with me makes up for it. Here’s the letter:

Today I want to talk to you about success. But to talk about success, I first need to talk about failure. You
need to avoid failure to achieve success.

Let’s get started…

Many people fail because they don’t take action. That is, they have a solid plan and plenty of tools. They
probably even have a great support network in place, but they fail because they don’t take action.

Here’s the plain truth: Procrastination has the power to kill any business.

You cannot sit idle and expect to make money, at least when you’re starting out. You must put in the time, or you have to spend money to get others to do work for you. There is no other path.

So, I have to ask -

Are you sitting on your butt? Are you just waiting for success or are you making it happen with hard work?
Are you properly focused and are you prepared for success?

My point is that you have to keep taking action. Again, you have to be in the game to win. If you’re not
fighting for profit, it won’t come. You’re the engine of wealth. You cannot procrastinate – you cannot sit
idle.

Let’s shift gears…

Another cause for failure – very similar to procrastination – is giving up too soon. If you’ve ever made any money online, you have the potential to make a lot more, by building on your success.

It’s true!

Our friend Dennis Becker explains this with his concept of making just 5 bucks per day. This is an idea that’s been around for a while, but Dennis really spells it out, in every detail. It’s a great model and it works.

Oh, and what I like is that it isn’t “theory” – no way. Dennis shows you what has worked for him. And, he shows how his students have pulled in the cash. They know how to grow over time.

What I really like is that he shows you how to focus and take action. It’s concrete stuff; step-by-step. I just love that he’s a real guy with a real success story.

You probably didn’t know this, but we’ve done several joint ventures with Dennis and he’s one of the most
honest guys we know online. There are a lot of scumbags out there, trying to take you for a ride. Dennis is sincere. He’s really a nice guy, and yes, that’s a key reason we do business with him and recommended his products.

By the way -

Don’t worry I’m not trying to convince you to buy the “5 Bucks Per Day” report that Dennis offers up.
Sure, if you’re interested, here’s the link to his sales page…

http://uxreports.com/DigitalGoods/5buck.php

But seriously, I’m not trying to get you to buy his report. I’m pointing to his sales page because he tells you his story. Every time I need a little motivation, I visit his sale page for a kick in the butt. It’s great stuff. I’m sure you’ll identify with his story.

Let’s keep moving…

I want to wrap this up with my own little story. Like you, I still do battle online. Every single say I hunt for profits. I seek wealth. Every single day I look for new ways to generate cash. It’s this focus and dedication that drives results.

About 1 year ago, I was only making a few thousand dollars per month with my brother. Now we make over
$10,000 every single month.

Now, I’d like to tell you there is one simple secret to success, but that isn’t true – It’s due to having plans. It’s from working hard.

And…

It’s from having focus and taking action day after day. If I did nothing, I wouldn’t be pulling down thousands of dollars month after month. I just want to encourage you to keep working on your dreams. Work hard, stay focused. You can do it, like we have. And, like Dennis Becker has done, along with his students.

All the best,

~ John S. Rhodes of “The Rhodes Brothers”

p.s. One quick note. Many of our Simple Cash Blog members enjoy success. They started small. They were
slow. But now, many of them are making a killing online.

Hope you enjoyed that as much as I did.

Here’s to you!
