Are The Guru’s Trying To Hold You Down?

There is much speculation as to the intentions of successful internet marketers in the know. Accusations continue to fly concerning the motivations behind the products and conflicting advice being served up on a daily basis.

A Possible Conspiracy Theory?

It is something to think about when you consider the fact that many of the top marketers online are well versed in consumer buyer psychology. Understanding what makes the market tick puts you in a position to wind up the watch.

Let’s examine a possible theory with regards the vicious buying cycle many newbie and intermediate affiliates find themselves trapped in. Today the most popular problem confronting new and intermediate affiliates is the problem of  ‘information overload’.

The theory that has surfaced as of late is that the Guru’s are constantly releasing products to the masses for the purpose of keeping them off balance. The way this works is simple; give the masses just enough information to keep from requesting a refund, but just enough to keep them needing more.

How many duplicate products do you own? Why? Is it because you learned about a specific way to drive traffic to your website with one product, only to find out that what you learned is not correct from another? When this occurs, it would seem that the only logical thing to do would be to search for the right answer, which would more than likely present itself in… you guessed it, another product.

The point is, the more information you take in, the more confused you become, thus feeding the need for more information, leading to more confusion, leading to the purchase of another product and so on and so on.

Round and round she goes, where she stops… nobody knows.

What About This?

When you consider the vast amount of people that are coming online everyday, the millions upon millions of people that are flocking to the internet looking for answers to problems they are dealing with on a daily basis, wouldn’t it be safe to say that the pot is big enough to feed everybody?

Are you familiar with the 80/20 rule? Only 20% of the people will do 80% of the work. With this being the case, why would someone want to hold you back when the possibility is that, you might decide not to do anything anyway?

Could there be the minute possibility that the Guru’s actually want you to succeed so that they could build further alliances that would result in gaining larger market share? After all if you paint yourself into a corner, how can finish working on the rest of the house?

Glass Half Full or Half Empty?

Obviously two differing viewpoints and ultimately the perspective that will reap it’s greatest effect is the one you decide to take. There are those who choose to be the victim and those who choose to be the victor. Which will you be?

While the Guru’s motivations may cause us to wonder where we fall in this big bad world of online marketing, the flipside of the equation leaves us to ponder our own motivations and expectations for success.

There are many different angles and conclusions that can be drawn but neither you or I will profit from them in the short term, besides… we got other stuff to do.

Food for thought,

Nando
