Are You Over Thinking Your Success?

August 27, 2009 in Internet Marketing | Comments (1)

You’ve just finished putting the finishing touches on your latest ebook or free report and it’s all set and ready to go, but…

Maybe you’ve just finished reading an interesting post on a forum and while you know how you want to respond in your mind, the minute you get to actually typing out your response… your mind draws a blank.

Perhaps you had an idea for a really interesting blog post and just as you begin to start typing it out… poof!

All of sudden what you wanted to say “magically disappears”.

Has this ever happened to you?

Fear not it happens to every one at some point in time. The problem is not that you don’t have a good idea or a good product, the problem rests with…

Overthinking.

We may feel that although we have a good idea for a blog post or product somehow it could still be better. After all, you always here people complaining about the lack of quality products online or someone makes a negative comment about someone’s idea.

The fear of rejection and disapproval cause us not to ‘give it a shot’. However how will you know if the shot will go in, if you don’t take it?

Overthinking can cause you to go from a state of confidence and resolve to fear and tentative action. It’s amazing how easily we can talk ourselves out of taking action even though we may have had a moment of clarity and decided to go for it.

Don’t talk yourself out of success. There are many products online that could be better, but the one or two suggestions that you did get could be the catalyst to bigger profits. So was it a total waste? No.

The biggest obstacle to success online or anywhere else is what we think and how we respond to what we think.

To your success,

Nando

How do you handle the ups and downs?

Making a living from the internet can be quite wearisome at times especially if you’re computer isn’t behaving properly. When you’re 100% reliant on yourself in the beginning, the last thing you have patience for is a browser crash.

There are some that have experienced getting a site de-indexed after sinking a whole heap of time and energy to get it to rank well. There all kinds of little difficulties and challenges that present themselves when you’re trying to get something done.

How do you handle the challenges when they present themselves? Do you see the glass as half full or half empty? From time to time you will experience annoyances, setbacks and failures, will you continue to press on or will you quit?

Here’s a barometer you can measure your thinking against. If you are ready to give up after a couple of little problems and inconveniences then you’re business is not a business. It’s a hobby.

However if you are running a business, you know that stuff happens and no matter what happens, the show must go on. Everyday people endure all kinds of setbacks, problems and issues, but they still go to work and get the job done.

If you can tailor that same tenacity to your business, then you are destined for success, it’s not a matter of, if… but when.

To your imminent success,

Nando

Internet Marketing Success: Bursting Through The Bubble Of Mediocrity

May 1, 2009 in Blogging, Internet Marketing, Personal Thoughts, The Inbox | Comments (5)

Tags: , , ,

It’s so easy to do what others do and even easier to cast the blame when it doesn’t work out. It’s tough to come up with an idea or a plan and stick to it, especially when the level of success you hope for is not written in your DNA.

Have you ever come up with what you thought was a great plan only to talk yourself out of it before you got half way through it? It happens every day to thousands of well meaning people with really good ideas that never see the light of day because the feelings of self doubt somehow always creep in.

What makes it even worse is when someone else comes along with the same idea with the guts to pursue it and succeeds.

Achieving internet marketing success is only as difficult as you might tell yourself it is. This by no means is to say that it’s easy, nothing could be further from the truth. When it comes to learning internet marketing, you have to learn a whole new language and a whole new set of rules in order for things to start working out and then, you have to apply what you know.

That’s where it gets sticky. Somewhere in the back of your mind, you might start to experience “Achievers Remorse”. You start to feel like maybe you don’t deserve to be successful, because maybe no one else in your family tree has dared to do something as bold and audacious as what your trying to do.

You may start to reason that the success you’re looking for as an internet marketer, belongs to other people, but not you. This is the bubble of mediocrity that many people find themselves trapped in on a daily basis.

There are many knowledgeable marketers online who could write volumes of books about how to do this stuff, who are silently living life in quiet desperation because they are mentally stuck in neutral. They know what to do, they know how to do it, but for some god forsaken unforseen reason, they just can’t get themselves to take action.

It’s this lack of consistent action, followed by a hidden lack of conviction and passion for what they are doing that keeps them from bursting through the bubble of mediocrity. That burst simply fades into a slight push or nudge once in awhile, whenever they get a short blast of inspiration.

Those intermittent pushes against the ever so fragile veneer of their self created bubble only serve as a taunting frustration of what could be, if only they could get themselves to take action consistently enough without wavering and second guessing themselves all the time.

You’ve heard it said so many times before that the real key to internet marketing success is to build a list and yet taking solid action to actually build one is like trying to work up the nerve to ask the prettiest guy/gal at the party to dance with you. What do you say? You know how bad you want it, but you just can’t get your body to do what you’re mind is telling you. The pain and frustration of stepping into the unknown of what could be is limited by the perception of your own reality and somehow when it’s all said and done, you still find yourself trapped in that bubble of mediocrity.

Well at last, there really is only one way to burst through that bubble and that’s to stop thinking about it and do it. If you want to burst through that bubble and see the reality of what could be, than you need to start taking action as if you’ve done it all before. Have you ever noticed how easy it is do something, once you’ve tried and done it a few times?

I’m sorry for the long post, but I’m not sorry for trying to encourage you, so let me give you an illustration to round out what I’m saying here.

Years ago I played semi-pro football and let me tell you, there were a lot of fears that I had to overcome there, but there was one particular moment during every practice and every game that my fear would be at it’s absolute highest.

The fear that fluttered around inside my gut like giant aggravated butterflies would always come to a heightened crescendo right before the kickoff. All the training and all the experience I had acquired, right along with all the exercise and all the skills I had developed, suddenly meant nothing, until I got my first ‘pop’. It was very difficult to settle down and get my nerves together, until I made that first contact with the opponent, then the  fear of the collision became the thrill of the hit and now I was ready to play.

Internet marketing success, can be yours once you make the decision to be successful at it. Once you’ve made that decision, then the fear of failure, will become the thrill of discovery and every moment thereafter will propel you forward, moving you closer to the fulfillment of whatever your long imagined dream is. So it’s time you burst through that bubble of mediocrity and claim the success that belongs to you.

Look the fear of failure in the eye and tell it to KYA (kiss your ***), because it’s time to experience the true reality that you have the power to create. What it all boils down to is this, the most important letter in the word sccess is U.

To your internet marketing success,

Nando

Affiliate Marketing Success: Learning Through Repetition

April 28, 2009 in Articles, affiliate marketing | Comments (7)

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

While it may seem like someone is achieving affiliate marketing success every 30 seconds, the reality is that many of the affiliate marketing success stories you read about today did not happen over night.

What Does It Take?

In order to become effective at anything especially affiliate marketing, it will take constant repetition of the basic fundamentals in order to win at this game. One of the biggest factors that leads to frustration and failure is giving up too soon.

I don’t think there are very many people who grow up just knowing this stuff. You have to learn how to do market research, keyword research, content research, upload and download files, create a basic website and on and on.

Then there’s the traffic generation side of the equation whether you’re paying for it in time or money, all methods require time and testing. The problem is that you may not be giving yourself enough room to learn and try in order to get the experience you need, to do the things you need to do.

All I Wanted To Do Was…

When I first got started, all I wanted to do was make money. Period. I knew absolutely nothing about this industry, and even less about the various topics I mentioned above. In my mind, the internet was just supposed to start pumping out money because I bought a “complete” turnkey website and I thought that was all I had to do.

I thought plugging it in meant that all I had to do was get it online. LOL.

Now when I look back, all I can say is: “Wow,  I didn’t have a clue”. However once I hit that wall, I realized that this was going to be a learning process. Here’s a simple secret I’m going to share with you, so let’s just keep this between you and me, o.k.?

A Simple Secret

The fastest way to hit the learning curve and get into the profit zone is to fail as fast and as often as you can. Now nobody likes to fail, you feel embarassed, angry, and disgusted, but the faster you can get past that stage, the sooner you’ll start succeeding.

Now the successes will be small. Maybe after a couple of failed attempts, you manage to figure out how to upload your blog theme and plugins to your server and they actually work. Pat yourself on the back, good job. When you’re just starting out, that’s a big deal.

Go get a beer or call your best girlfriend, or prance around like a fool to your favorite song, for a minute. Celebrate. Then go back to work and tackle your next issue. In the long run the more you repeat these processess over and over again, the faster you’ll be at it in the future.

The Key To Your Success With Affiliate Marketing

Repetition is the key to your success with affiliate marketing. Although the graphics may change with every new product and things may be explained in a slightly different way, the basic marketing principles and technicalities will stay the same.

So when you feel like your at your wits end, because you just can’t seem to figure out why the format of your website looks jacked up on Internet Explore and great on Firefox, go back and carefully look at what you did, retrace your steps and if worse comes to worse, start over again.

Give yourself room to succeed. You know that boss or supervisor you have a passionate dislike for? Don’t become that person to yourself. Don’t worry about the stories of people who made 5 gazillion dollars in 29 days, many of those same people have been at it much longer than you have and now it’s finally working. That will be YOU, if you don’t give up too soon.

Affiliate Marketing Success Will Be Yours,

Becoming Successful With Internet Marketing

March 21, 2009 in Articles, Internet Marketing, Personal Thoughts | Comments (6)

Internet marketing is not as easy as some make it out to be, but…

It does present the average joe with an opportunity that might not otherwise be available through traditional channels. The dilemma that arises as a result of pursuing this avenue of income is knowing who to follow or what direction to go in.

Try or Cry?

If you’ve been online for any length of time, you will notice that there are a million launches happening every day. Maybe an exaggeration but close enough. To add to the confusion, you may receive a product recommendation from a marketer who may have sold his own product to you.

The product recommended may not have anything to do with the one you just bought. It’s easy to get frustrated and assume that this is an attempt to keep you confused and chasing your “long tail”.

In some instances regarding marketers who have made a reputation for crying wolf in connection with the latest product launch this could be the case.

However for the majority it is more a matter of offering choices and doing business as an information marketer. The question is do you try to work through the noise to get the best return on investment as per your decision to buy the product or do you look for any opportunity to cry about what you think someone is trying to do to you?

It’s sooo easy…

It’s so easy to get caught up in the opinions and contentions of individuals who would rather spend time crying over a glass of spilt milk instead of just cleaning it up and moving on.

Some of these little tirades serve more as distractions than directions and will easily bite into your profitability and chew off your enthusiasm.

Become successful with internet marketing

Internet marketing is not for everyone. It takes steel-willed determination and focus to make it work. Not everyone is cut out for that kind of work. For some it’s easier to work in a 9 to 5 corporate environment where it’s easier to “pass the buck” when things go wrong.

Becoming successful with internet marketing will ultimately be as a result of blending a collage of methods and tactics together to find the system that works for you. The distinguishing factor will be as a result of the action you take.

Determine your committment level, put together a plan of action and move on it. Assess your results, make adjustments, and take more action. Continue to duplicate the process until you have designed your own well oiled system that brings in profits like clockwork.

This is where the truly great products, coaching programs and profits come from.

Once you’ve been at it for awhile you’ll soon realize that your success with internet marketing will not come as the result of one product or person, but it will be the result of learning a little bit from each one and designing your own style.

If you’re up for a great story, you might want to check out the sales letter for Kim Roach’s Instant Payday Formula. The story she tells in the sales letter will make you laugh and you’ll probably see alot of yourself in it. I know I did.

If you’re put off by the affiliate link just ‘Google It’.

To your success,

Nando

Effective communication with your list is crucial to your long term affiliate marketing success. If you want to be able to print money on demand these 6 tips can help you to accomplish that.

1. Speak Casually – By writing in a way that sounds like your talking to a close friend you will be more apt get and keep your readers attention. This also puts your reader at ease and more responsive to your message.

2. Go easy on the vocabulary – If you’re readers have to get out a dictionary to understand what the heck you just said, you may feel a slight disconnection there. Use simple words to get your point across.

3. Try to write Short sentences – It’s important not make your emails look like one big block of text or worse yet, several big blocks of text. Personally the minute I see what looks like a long drawn out email, I usually don’t read it through. 2 or 3 sentences? Good.

4. Avoid Long Messages – In line with point number 3, it’s good to keep your messages relatively short. If you have a long message to communicate, convert it into a pdf and give your readers the link to read it.

5. Mix up your offers with content – There are a couple of ways you can go with this, such as mailing 2 0r 3 messages that give strictly content or by giving content with an offering in the p.s. Don’t bomb your list with offer after offer because that will only give them cause to ignore you.

6. Provide an unsubscribe link – People will join and leave your list for various reasons, so give them the option to unsubscribe if they so choose. There’s nothing more irritating than feeling like your trapped on a list.
