Increase Website Conversion: Will More Traffic Increase Website Conversion? Maybe… Maybe Not

August 31, 2009 in Website Conversion | Comments (4)

Tags: , , , , , , , ,

There are a ton of people out there with the mistaken assumption that if you just drive more traffic to a losing offer you’ll make sales. Well first of all you have to consider the offer… is it targeted to the right people? Is anyone even interested in the offer itself? If this is the case what can you do to increase website conversion and beef up your bottom line?

How frustrating it can be when you spend a  good amount of time doing everything you can to get visitors to your website to the point of almost pulling your hair out to make a sale and nothing happens. It almost makes you want to quit sometimes doesn’t it? But you know better than that so you keep at it and still nothing. What gives?

As I mentioned earlier perhaps the offer is not targeted to the right people. If you’re targeting PPC products and services to an SEO crowd I don’t think it’s going to work out to good. The same could be said for targeting list building products to an adsense crowd, somehow your conversions may not be what you’re expecting.

Now that was just one area you might want to consider, you may also want to look at the sales copy on the site your promoting. The product could very well be spectacular but if the sales letter only draws yawns and question marks the likelihood of seeing any conversions will be minimal at best.

In addition to the sales copy not pulling the way you need it to, there’s also the possibility that you’re selling the sales page before your prospect gets to the sales page. It’s important to presell or soft sell your prospets so that clicking on your affiliate link seems more like a good idea in their minds versus a high pressure pitch from you.

More traffic is not the answer for a weak offer and if you want to drastically increase website conversions that will take your internet business to a whole new level of profitability check this out.

What’s The Best Way To Use Article Marketing?

August 1, 2009 in Articles, Traffic Generation, article marketing, making money online | Comments (3)

If you’re going to engage in a labor intensive strategy like article marketing, it’s important that you maximize that traffic for every penny it’s worth.

Article marketing can be used to drive traffic to your blog, send traffic directly to an affiliate link (although not all directories allow you to do this), direct traffic to your static website or to an adsense site.

But the most effective way to use article marketing is to send that prequalified traffic to a squeeze page or a web page with an opt in form on it.

Think about it for a moment. Considering the amount of time it takes to write an article and submit it, how many of those visitors if they are sent to your blog or static website will actually purchase anything?

Less than 1%. Scary huh?

So why not send that traffic to a web page that will be able to capture their name and email address for future marketing purposes?

Not only is this the most effective way to use article marketing, but it is an effective way to recycle the traffic you’ve worked so hard to get in the first place.

If you’re running a blog or static site (meaning a website that doesn’t have to be constantly updated) you can send short email messages to your subscribers telling them about a new article or tip you’ve written about on your site.

Now here’s the really cool thing that starts to happen when you do this. A compound effect begins to take place as you build your subscriber list and recycle your traffic.

As you continue to ad posts to your blog or pages to your website, the search engines will index them thus sending you additional traffic while you are directing the already existing traffic from your subscribers back to your site at the same time.

Isn’t that awesome?

Now you can direct link to your affiliate link if you want, but if 99% of the traffic that stops by the product your promoting don’t buy, now what?

It becomes like pouring water into a leaking bucket and in this case you’re losing more than you are gaining.

While article marketing is an effective way to drive traffic to your squeeze page you can compound that effect further using multiple traffic sources.

Article Marketing Traffic: A Work Horse That Continues To Perform

Article marketing will continue to be an effective marketing strategy for a very long time to come, simply because search engines are useless without content. The average searches per month on the majority of given topics is conducted with the primary focus of getting information.

By utilizing article marketing as your traffic getting strategy, you are in effect positioning your content as the gateway to the solution that meets the needs of your particular niche. Some side benefits of course are increased pagerank and optimum search engine placement for your website.

For your article marketing to have it’s best effect, it is important to include an author’s resource box at the conclusion of your article. There are many well written and informative articles out there on the net, that do not have a way for the reader to connect with the source. As a result, that’s potential traffic lost. Make sure to include this vital piece of the puzzle to garner the maximum amount of article marketing traffic as possible.

Submit your articles to the top ranking article directories for best exposure. Article directories like Ezine articles, Go articles, Article Dashboard, Article City and so on will not only help you drive targeted traffic to your website but getting links back to your site from these popular directories can increase your sites importance in the eyes of the search engines.

Affiliate Marketing Tactics: 3 Things You Can Do To Increase Your Commissions

in Articles, affiliate marketing | Comments (0)

Tags: , , , , , ,

Differentiating yourself in an extremely competitive market can seem like a steep hill to climb, but there are 3 affiliate marketing tactics you can use to increase your commission checks.

1. Use individual web pages to promote each product your marketing separately.

By individually showcasing each product or offer, you are ensuring that your visitors an undistracted while considering of what you’re promoting. With each offer on a separate landing page you increase the possibility of getting the sale. In addition to the commission, the value for the visitor is increased as they will be able to make an informed decision without any other distractions.

2. Free Reports

If possible try to position them at the very top side of your page so it’s hard to be missed. Create autoresponder messages that will be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box. According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.

Only two things can possibly happen with this type of web page: the visitor buys or leaves the page and never returns . By emailing useful information  at certain specified periods, you will remind them of the product and they may buy later and you’ll find out that the sale is closed. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.

Focus on important points like how your product can make life easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email.

Convince those who signed up for your free report that they will be missing something big if they do not avail themselves of your products and services.

3. Get Targeted Traffic

Now, if the person visiting your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will more than likely move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that focus on your target market and give you an opportunity to connect with your target markets interest.

Getting targeted traffic can be as simple as writing a minimum of 2 articles per week,  at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day. Imagine the possibilities with just a little more effort!

Here’s an interesting thought to keep in mind, only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you should make at least 10 sales based on the average statistic.

The tactics listed above can be used quite effectively to increase your affiliate revenue, all it takes is a little planning and action.

To Your Affiliate Success,

Nando

How To Make Money With Affliate Marketing When You’re Broke

April 28, 2009 in Articles, affiliate marketing | Comments (1)

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

That seems like a rough headline eh? How to make money with affiliate marketing when you’re broke. The truth is 99% of marketers who get started with affiliate marketing are broke. That’s why they got started.

What Do You Mean?

Let me clarify what I mean by broke besides the obvious. If you’re not making enough money to pay the bills and put money in the bank… you’re broke.

If you’re making a killing on your job, but your expenses are larger than your income… you’re broke.

If you are making a good living and putting money in the bank, but you don’t have any time left over to enjoy life and spend quality time with your family… you’re broke.

And lastly, if you’re so stressed out that you can’t make time to build a business online with affiliate marketing… you’re really broke.

So how can you make money with affiliate marketing if you’re flat broke?

It all comes down to three things:

  • A Plan
  • Work
  • Discipline

First things first. You need to make a plan. Nothing too exotic, because if it’s too involved, you ain’t gonna do it.

Second, you need to work the plan. No plan will execute itself, so roll up your sleeves and get ready to do some work.

Third, you will need to stick to the plan in order for it to work. No training will work without the discipline needed to see results. You have to be willing to train yourself to succeed. This is the most crucial component to making money online.

Here’s the work. You’re going to produce content, like you’ve never produced content before. You will write articles and blog posts. If you haven’t built a list, you need to start now and you’re going to write short articles for your autoresponder series.

Care To Elaborate?

So let’s put this together. Once you’ve decided on the market you’re interested in and put your blog or website together, now you’re going to need to fill it up with content.

Then, you’re going to have to write more articles to get visitors to your website or blog. Now understand something, this works, but it takes a consistent, day in and day out effort for it to happen. You won’t see any returns if you just write 10 articles and never do another thing. You gotta go for it and block out all the distractions around you.

It works, it ain’t pretty, but it works. Fill up your autoresponder with at least 5 or 6 articles spaced out about 3 or 4 days apart. This content is for the people who choose to optin to your newsletter. Every other day or two after you’ve written the first few articles, add another article to your autoresponder series.

This will help you to build a relationship with your market and set the stage for future sales opportunities. Like I said before, it ain’t pretty, but it works.

In due time you’ll start making some money, as a matter of fact, when I stopped buying every last ebook and program out there and just focused on doing this, I started seeing commissions within my first two weeks. But that’s me, you may or may not see the same results, it depends on how hungry for success you are.

Well sorry for the long winded post, I hope it was helpful.

Affiliate Marketing Success – 3 Tools You Must Have

February 25, 2009 in Articles, affiliate marketing | Comments (1)

Tags: , , , , ,

As you set about on your quest to gain a level of market share in the big bad world of affiliate marketing there are 3 tools you must have if you want to enjoy affiliate marketing success.

Tool #1 You gotta have your own website. This doesn’t mean you can’t start out with a blog, but eventually you are going to need your virtual real estate that you can use to brand yourself with.

As blogging continues to dominate the internet, having a wordpress blog hosted on your own domain is the best way to go. Having your own hosting allows you to avoid any mishaps that could come from a blog hosted on a platform you have no control over.

It would really be a shame to lose revenue due to a server issue that was out of your control. In addition to paying for your own hosting, wordpress blogs are incredibly search engine friendly. Attracting traffic to these particular blogs starts the minute you add content. Of course there is more involved when it comes to search engine optimization, but just get a wordpress blog.

Tool #2 Incentives play a major role in influencing the decision making process of your prospects. Many of the top affiliate marketers provide relevant high quality incentives to increase the percentage of sales for any particular offer. The profits generated as a result of offering incentives can be hefty especially if the offer alone is a high converting one.

Tool #3 Inbound links from high page rank sites is a must if you want to achieve high visibility in the search engines. Now here’s the thing, you can achieve high visibility quickly if you have links coming from several authority sites in your niche, but the fact is that over time the bulk of your visitors are going to come from the search engines. So put together an aggressive linking campaign from the beginning and as your site ages, it’s relevance will increase in the search engines.

So there you are 3 tools for affiliate marketing success, a website for branding purposes, incentives for increased sales and profits, and links for search engine visibility and lots of traffic.

To your affiliate marketing success,

Nando
